1st Sikh in decades graduates Army officer school
Capt. Tejdeep Singh Rattan became the first Sikh in decades to complete the U.S. Army basic officer training, according to the Associated Press.
Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World trailer out
The first trailer for director Edgar Wright's "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" was released this week. The movie follows the story of 22-year-old Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) who just met the girl of his dreams. But in order to win her heart, he must battle her seven evil exes. The movie is based on the comic by half-Korean, half-French Canadian creator Bryan Lee O'Malley.
JANM accepting submissions for 3rd annual ID Film Festival
The Japanese American National Museum announced it is accepting film and video submissions for its third annual ID Film Festival. The festival will take place from Oct. 7-10 at the Tateuchi Democracy Forum in Los Angeles. Films of all lengths and genres can be submitted, but filmmakers must identify as hapa/mixed or Asian/Pacific Islander (American or from abroad). Send a one-paged synopsis of the work along with contact information (e-mail, address and phone number), a short biography of the filmmaker and a DVD screener to:
