Colorado Rapids sign Davy Armstrong
Cambodian-American from Aurora becomes team's first-ever homegrown player

COMMERCE CITY – The Colorado Rapids signed Rapids Academy midfielder Davy Armstrong, its first-ever homegrown player, the team announced during a press conference on Aug. 17.
Armstrong, whose father Ri is originally from Cambodia, graduated this past May from Rangeview High School in Aurora. He was named the 2008 All-Colorado high school player of the year by The Denver Post.
"We are excited to see Davy become the first Rapids Academy player to develop through our youth system and advance to our professional team," Rapids Managing Director Jeff Plush said in a release sent out by the team.
