James Nguyen's 'Birdemic' comes to the Esquire Theatre this weekend
Director James Nguyen's "Birdemic" plays at midnight on April 23 and 24 at the Esquire Theatre. Nguyen will make an appearance on April 24 for a questions-and-answers session after the movie. According to its synopsis, "Birdemic" is about "people (who) are gruesomely slain as a platoon of homicidal eagles and vultures attack the residents of a small Northern California town. It is not known what causes the flying menace to attack. A young couple trapped by the onslaught manage to fight back, but will they survive Birdemic?" The New York Times calls it "A Cheesy Horror Turkey Becomes a High-Flying Cult Hit."
'Warlords' opens April 23 at Chez Artiste Theatre
Director Peter Ho-Sun Chan's "Warlords" opens on April 23 at Chez Artiste Theatre. The film stars Jet Li, Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro.
Avs F Brandon Yip has three points in series against San Jose
Colorado Avalanche forward Brandon Yip has a goal and two assists as the Avs and the Sharks are tied two-all in the series. The series continues Thursday at 8:30 p.m. in San Jose and comes back to Denver on Saturday.
