DENVER – Metro State outfielder Kellie Nishikida was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Week on April 20.
Nishikida was 6-for-12 at the plate, scoring six times and hitting two home runs while driving in 10 runs as the Roadrunners swept both Western New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands this past weekend. She is currently on a seven-game hitting streak.
On the season, the senior is hitting .351 with six homers and 32 RBIs, while leading the team in stolen bases with 14.
No. 5-ranked Metro State is 32-3 and sits atop the RMAC East Division with a 29-2 record against conference opponents. The team will play two doubleheaders against Nebraska-Kearney on Friday and Saturday.
